DATABASE APPLICATION PROGRAMMING - Have been writing applications in Borland Delphi for data entry and display of data in various report and display formats. Developed help authoring skills in WinHelp and HTMLHelp .

WEB PROGRAMMING - Provided programming support to a web-design team. Configured and modified online stores/forums; programmed database interaction using PHP and javascript.

DATABASE PROGRAMMING - Worked remotely with a Florida insurance broker redesigning and extending his existing FileMaker Pro database.

DATABASE DEVELOPMENT/DESIGN - Worked intimately with clients across the country in developing custom database solutions using FileMaker Pro. Prepared design plans, E-R diagrams, GUI’s etc. Became familiar with Lasso, a web-enablement tool used with FileMaker.

SOFTWARE TECHNICAL SUPPORT - Worked for a major software supplier providing technical support for an ad-hoc database query tool and report writer. Became familiar with several major databases including Sybase, Oracle, MS Access. Developed ability in use of SQL and VBA (MS Access, Excel). Refined and extended FileMaker Pro and WinBatch programming skills as well as ability to solve technical problems and interact with customers and other technical personnel.

1996-1997

DIRECTOR OF TECHNICAL SERVICES - Initially, served as telephone technical support for a rapidly growing internet service provider. Later, served as WAN administrator, worked extensively with routers, terminal servers, high bandwidth data lines. Became familiar with UNIX and Windows NT. Managed the technical support department. Performed MIS functions. Acquired Web publishing skills. Developed expertise with FileMaker Pro and WinBatch.

1994-1995

TECHNICAL SUPPORT – Served on the technical support staff of a rapidly growing telecom-munications company as Helpdesk team leader in which capacity I resolved "human system" frustration problems. Wrote applications in AppleScript and FaceSpan to automate data extraction procedures. Developed the company BBS into a major thoroughfare for electronic data exchange. Wrote procedures documentation.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT – Member of Helpdesk team supporting a network with 2700 stations during transition from Banyan Vines to PC Network. Became familiar with network issues related to security, printers, administration, installation, multiple platforms, Internet, etc.

TECHNICIAN –Technical Skills: Configured, built, and tested new computers; upgraded and repaired used computers. Installed and configured networks (Lantastic, Novell). Established and emplemented system backup strategies. Installed, upgraded and configured software, performed data recovery, memory management. Provided remore and on-site technical support, while working for a Fairfield computer repair service .
Personal Attributes: Worked with people to reduce the intimidation they felt due to lack of computer experience.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT – Assisted in managing a 30 station Novell network. Maintained and upgraded hardware: computers, network printers, modems, OCR scanners, voice mail system, CD-ROM. Implemented procedures which reduced costs for data acquisition by 25%. Assisted clients attempting to upload data to network database. Performed programmed database queries, data analysis and prepared reports for management.

Attended a technical training school in computer systems and networks. During this time period, focused on learning the skill of working as a team member.

CADD OPERATOR – Acquired CADD skills using DRAFIX while redrawing plans from blueprints on per piece basis. Became competent with associated billing and materials list software. Demonstrated an ability to see the job through.
